Chromatic Induction (CIWaM)
Chromatic induction is the process related to the change in the perceived color of a visual stimulus. In the following examples you can see several chromatic induction effects:
A green and a blue ring are perceived in left and right discs, respectively. Although perceived as different colours, in fact they are exactly the same physical colour. This effect is called chromatic assimilation
A green and a yellow ring are perceived in left and right discs, respectively. Although perceived as different colours, in fact they are exactly the same physical colour. This effect is called chromatic contrast
In the following computational model, there is a high level computational modelling of lateral interactions that predicts the color perceived for any visual stimulus and reproduces the psychophysical data obtained by observers.
